Reaching the paper
Write to Us
A telephone during reading hours, a street address, two mail addresses and the form below. A person reads everything and answers most of it inside a working day.
Four ways

The paper is read Wednesday to Saturday between 10 am and 4:30 pm Central. Anything arriving outside that waits until somebody opens it, and no page here pretends otherwise.
The form
What happens to a letter
It is read by one of two people. If it names something on the site that is wrong, it goes to the top of the pile and gets answered first.
Nothing is added to a list, because there is no list to be added to. This paper sends nothing to anybody who has not written to it first, and there is no newsletter to decline. The privacy notice walks each field of the form through to wherever it stops.
Corrections
The part of the post we care most about, and the reason there is a second address.
Send the page and the sentence. We go back to whatever the sentence came from, and then either the page changes and the date at the foot of it moves, or a reply explains why it stands. Both happen. Neither takes more than a working day.
An hours board that has changed since we published is the commonest correction by a distance, and it is the most useful one anybody sends us.
Three questions this paper cannot answer
- Whether a particular named place will let you in. We write about kinds of ground rather than named businesses, on purpose, and we have no standing to speak for anybody's gate. The number on their board will answer in thirty seconds.
- Whether something is safe. We can say what the surface is like and where the loose gravel is. Whether a place is safe for you, at the hour you are thinking of, is a judgment nobody can make from a desk in MetroCenter.
- Anything about a fare. The fare search is run by an outside service and the numbers, the rules and the bookings are all theirs. We cannot see a booking, change one or find out what happened to one.
Ground we should look at
Genuinely welcome, and the best letters we get.
What helps: what kind of ground it is, whether there is a gate, whether anything is posted on it, and how you came to be standing there. What does not help: a name and nothing else, because a name is the one thing this paper will not print.
